Precise Machining and Manufacturing is proud to welcome our newest 1st year apprentice, Zak, to the team.
Zak joins us from Westminster College. His interests include computers, motor vehicles and working out how things work.
Zak is drawn to the diversity, complexity and the challenge of the projects which Precise manufactures and is especially interested in the CNC Machining and CAD CAM side of things.
When asked, " what do you like about Precise so far "
Zak replied, " the friendly co-workers and the welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to settle in and learn new things ".
Zak has a bright future ahead with Precise.
We wish him well and all of Precise's staff will help Zak to achieve his goals.
Precise is a growing company and has proven to be very focused on supporting and partnering with the Defence industry and its many suppliers.
Precise is looking to train more apprentices in the near future as well as employ
additional already skilled CNC and CAD CAM staff.
Interested persons should register their interest for employment through the link below.

Precise Machining and Manufacturing appoints Alex Krasser to the position of
Defence Business Development Manager.
Precise supports the Defence Industries prime contractors as well as their subcontractors bases.
Alex's role is to grow and build strong mutually beneficial supporting alliances with customers requiring
CNC machining and Precision manufacturing projects built to specific requirements and delivered on time.
In early 2018,
Precise advanced its CAD CAM Design, Manufacturing and Computing capabilities with the installation of powerful new computer systems, improved IT, Networking and Security Backup Systems, coupled to multiple suites of 2018 Autodesk Powershape 3D Design and
2018 Autodesk Powermill 3, 4 and 5 Axis Machine Toolpathing software.
These improvements have further enhanced Precise's
Quality, Reliability, On Time Delivery and Support of
Precise Machining and Manufacturing projects, large or small, simple or complex

In September 2017,
Precise installed an integrated Full High Definition
Digital Inspection Microscope and Measurement System, with features including,
Full Live Video Image Quality
Up to 122 x magnification
Digital Measurement and Markup Capability
HD Photo capture to USB and/or Email to customer or third parties
Many Advantages are received due to this improvement.
It allows us to measure and check, down to the smallest of detail
It helps us to Precisely Machine and Manufacture, Modify and Repair items to very high accuracies
It allows us to record before and after evidence of work performed
It allows us to check surface finishes, alignments and blemishes etc
It allows us to see what the human eye can not
It provides certainty
Installed in April 2017,
Our Sodick ALC600G, Premium Series CNC Wirecutting Machine very accurately wirecuts
( within less than 0.01mm ) mating componentry, shapes, extrusions and tooling inserts to new levels of quality and surface finishes in any hardness of electronically conductive materials, i.e.: All Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Titanium and Exotic Materials
Our Wirecutting capabilities range from miniature sizes up to machine travels of
700 x 500 x 400mm high, with up to 30 degree tapers. ( Actual workpieces can be larger )

Installed in March 2017,
Our fifth, full 5 Axis CNC Machining Centre, the DMG Mori DMU85 Monoblock.
Please click on the video below to see our extended capabilities in being able to machine any item from up to 5 sides, at any angles, in the one setup.
This technology increases our capabilities and resources in the accurate machining of simple and complex projects for all industries.
With inbuilt spindle speeds of up to 20,000 rpm and the ability to approach jobs from all 5 sides and / or from any angle, we are able to directly machine fine detail into complicated projects including Defence, Mining, Electronic, Renewable Energy and Motorsports Componentry etc.
Similarly for Moulds and Tooling, being able to approach and finish machine the tricky areas from any choice of angle, results in less time required to complete any EDMing / Toolmaking or Fitting processes.
Less manual setups and better machined surface finishes, equates to greater quality in the finished product and faster lead times for our customers.
With one of South Australia's greatest 5 Axis contract specific machining resources on call,
coupled to an in depth full spectrum resource of manufacturing staff and equipment,
Precise competently machines and manufactures projects of all calibers, day in and day out.
The weight of the individual workpieces can be up to 1.5 tonnes and measure up to approximately 1m x 1m x 1m

Installed in 2016,
Precise Machining and Manufacturing offers Precise Microscopic Laser Welding Services
Laser Welding is ideally suited to improving weld quality and speeding up the Repair and Modification services on critical jobs.
Repairing or Modifying Critical Mould and Tooling cavities and cores is a specialty.
Precise Laser Welding is a new breed of welding which is far superior and far more refined than all other traditional welding methodologies.
Laser welding is performed under very controlled conditions and applies minimal heat to the workpiece. The weld is applied exactly where needed and as such it greatly reduces or eliminates heat distortion and colour / surface finish degradation in nearby areas.
With minimal heat being applied and with that heat only being applied exactly where it is needed, it results in minimal heat sink around the weld. Highly polished and critical cavities and cores can be invisibly repaired.
Laser Welding Rods stocked range in many different material grades to perfectly match the parent grade material that the job was originally manufactured from.
Sizes stocked are between 0.2mm and 0.8mm in diameter.
All welding is performed under microscopes and magnified LCD screens which enables us to weld or repair exactly where it is needed thereby creating less work afterwards to match it back in.
After welding, Precise can then complete the modification or repair within its extensive toolroom facilities, exactly how you require it, quickly, economically and to the highest quality possible.
Many jobs that could not be performed previously by other welding processes are now very successfully being completed with our Laser Welding Services.
